Abstract

The effect of longitudinal rolling and alternating longitudinal and transverse passes in three passes with a total compression of 60% on the formation of dimensions, hardness and specific electrical conductivity during cold rolling of 0.7 mm thick sheets from 1.9×40×40 mm aluminum alloy AMg2 blanks on a 150×235 laboratory mill has been studied. After longitudinal rolling, compared with rolling with rotation, the shape of the sheet of the 40×40 mm blanks changes from a rectangle of 103×4 mm to an approximate square of 75×50 mm. The positive effect of turning the sheets on reducing the thickness difference from 0.025 to 0.010 mm and a qualitative change in the width difference from 0.265 to (–0.115) mm has been revealed. It is established that during longitudinal rolling, the hardness and electrical conductivity of the rolled sheets are distributed unevenly. The hardness is 127–146 HV, and the specific electrical conductivity is 19.46–21.89 ms/m. The coefficient of uneven distribution of hardness and electrical conductivity is 13 and 11%, respectively. Rolling sheets with rotation reduces the uneven distribution of hardness and specific electrical conductivity: hardness of 120–127 HV; specific electrical conductivity of 21.55–21.93 ms/m. The indicator of uneven hardness has decreased to 5.5%, and specific electrical conductivity to 1.7%. The equation of the relationship between hardness and electrical conductivity is obtained. The use of research results at the machine building enterprise of the Bogorodsk branch of the JSC Scientific and Production Association Pribor has made it possible to reduce the time of property control by 5% and increase the yield of suitable stampings by 3% from sheets rolled with rotation.
