For underground mining of inclined ore bodies, it is proposed to discharge broken ore in stopes by artificial water-and-rock mudflows. In this technology, stopes are arranged up-dip, inclined drilling rooms with cross-section of 5–6 m2 are driven along the axes of the stopes, and ore is broken by drill fans from these rooms. Then, on the broken ore muck pile, a heavy flow of water is fed for a short time from a cumulate tank placed in the upper part of the room. Water and broken ore form a water-and-rock mudflow which flows by gravity downward along the inclined floor of the stope (flow way) to the to an ore intake room on the haulage horizon. After outflow of water through drains to a drain sump, ore is loaded to dump trucks and hauled to the permanent ore chute or shaft. In the proposed technology for inclined ore bodies, ore haulage by mudflow is combined with ore haulage by blasting. As the ore intake chute is limited in volume, the ore muck pile should be accumulated up to a certain critical volume V1 which is smaller or equal to the intake chute volume V2. Thus, by calculating ore volume on the floor after breaking each i-th layer and summing these volumes up to the critical muck pile volume, we find the number nl of layers broken per cycle of ore discharge by blasting-and-mudflow. The number nl for the subsequent cycles is calculated taking into account that the mined-out void in the stope increases to the size ℓi. The article describes the recommended modes and parameters of ore drawing by blasting-and-mudflow depending on the incline and length of a stope.
The study was supported in the framework of the Target Financing Program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Project No. BR05236712.
