The article presents a historical sketch of the development and achievements of the scientific school of metal forming of Lipetsk State Technical University, which arose in the late 50s of the last century, in the theory and practice of sheet rolling production. The contribution of the school to the study of steel sheet production technology, automation of processes and the study of the formation of the properties of the finished product. The role of scientists of the Chair in the development and development of sheet rolling technologies is shown.
