Реферат | Today it is already possible to implement the production of methanol or gasoline in an industrial environment like the integrated steel mill on a large industrial scale basis including all necessary commercial warranties. For the signifcant decarbonization of the steel industry also the use of CO2 and renewable energy sources (RES) must be considered. Assuming today’s bottom price of RES electricity of 60,000 MWh (e. g. Wind onshore Germany) one can easily calculate a gasoline production price of approx. 160 Euro per MW·h including a simple payback time below 20 years for the installation. This business case will get even better, when the trade gasoline prices will recover to values of 2014 and before. This value is even below the lowest assumptions of the German Umwelt Bundesamt for 2050. Policy assume a pricing for such synthetic fuels today of 540 Euro per MW·h and for 2050 a price of still 180 EuroMW·h. This shows that the development of the echnology is ahead of the political expectations and can be utilized for the decarbonization of the transport sector much earlier than anticipated. |
