Реферат | The paper presents the results of the Tur deposit iron-manganese slimes magnetizing-roasting beneficiation process study. Magnetizing roasting of slimes was conducted on the 0.045–0.315 mm size fraction. –3+2 mm coal from Shubarkol was used for roasting, its composition, %, being as follows: ash — 4.87, moisture — 4.71, volatile-matter content — 42.02. Following slime blend (–0.315+0.045 mm) and coal (–3+2 mm) roasting, cinder was separated through sizing on 1 mm mesh sieve into concentrate and semi-coke and weighed. Bulk magnetism of roasted concentrate was determined through screening into size fractions of 0.16–0.315 and 0.045–0.16 mm, and magnetization of each size fraction was measured. The obtained results showed a very high sensitivity of magnetometrical method of iron-bearing blend ferritization control in magnetizing roasting. The optimal temperature of magnetizing roasting was determined to be 500–600 °С, preferably 550 °С. Above these temperatures, slime magnetization decreases. Higher levels of slime magnetization in 0.045–0.16 mm size fraction are explained by a denser polydispersed particle-particle packing, if compared with monodispersed. Roasted slime was subjected to dry magnetic separation with magnetic-field intensity of 18.302 kA/m. Dry magnetic separation provided for production of iron concentrate, containing 52.9 % Fe and 4.05 % Мn, recovery being 89 and 5.8 %, respectively, and manganese concentrate, containing 32.4 % Мn and 3.2 % Fe, recovery being 94.2 and 11.0 %. The produced iron and manganese concentrates are suitable for smelting into steel and ferroalloy, correspondingly. With the help of the physical-chemical methods, primarily, magnetothermal analysis, the nature of ferrimagnetic compound — maghemite, formed at low-temperature (500–600 °С) reducing-magnetizing roasting of iron-manganese slimes, was established. |
