Operation of mining and processing equipment, including widely used cone crushers, is often stopped for replacement of worn units or for reconditioning of prematurely wear-prone gears. Such works include replacement of crusher armature, concurrent fill of process cavities, and repair and renewal of mounting and supporting faces subjected to wear. Instead of filling crusher cavities with liquid zinc, which is a time-consuming and unsafe operation, it is proposed to use special composite materials. The presented characteristics of composites and their application technology illustrate their environmental advantages and high economic efficiency. Reconditioning of mounting faces for armature is suggested to carry out directly in the area of crusher operation using, first, surfacing in order to eliminate existing defects and, then, polishing of reconditioned surfaces on special small-dimension polishing equipment. The proposed engineering solutions will enable avoiding unscheduled downtime and will reduce complex and labor-intensive repair. Efficiency of machines is enhanced in this case while the operating cost is saved. |
