Steel rolls of all kinds and sizes are the main components of industrial units. The special technology for casting and heat treatment has to be used to provide the required properties of these rolls. The reports on quality of finished products should be addressed to the customer. The modern control and management system supports a user in maintenance, improves production parameters and can be integrated in the unit infrastructure. The system for control conducting of continuous heat treatment process of cast rolls has been realized by Gontermann-Peipers company (a roll manufacturer) with assistance of Scada-Software Simatic WinCC software. Putting this system into operation allowed to rise productivity due to lowering the risk of accidents with furnaces. Gontermann-Peipers company ios able now to evaluate simply and reliably charge composition for concrete orders and to confirm the quality of products for customers. Open and scaled architecture of Scada-system makes it possible to conduct its further expanding and to create additional control and management stations.
