Actual upward trend in performance of glass-blowing equipment, where the thermal cycling loads on components have reached in frequency of 60–140 cycles/min, causes the most dependency between production parameters and the imported high-quality cast iron. This article formulates the main problems associated with production of cast iron components for long the thermal-fatigue life by the domestic enterprises. The authors have investigated crystallization of cast iron including different shape of graphite inclusions with definition of the impact of structural and morphological states of the graphite phase on the service life of the components. The research presents the results of metallographic analysis and mechanical testing of the cast iron samples for strength and hardness, determines possibility of improving the structure of the material to ensure high thermal and oxidation resistance of working surfaces of components, noted that thermal material properties (thermal conductivity) is the important parameter of service life of details glass molds.
