There is characterized the modern status of extraction of iron ores at Sokolovsko-Sarbaiskoe Mining and Concentration Production Association. The tendency of removing of powers of open-cast mining of basic deposits is defined in connection with approaching of open pits depth to limit and necessity of rapid underground mastering of deep reserves. Opening scheme is shown together with development system of Sokolovskaya operating mine deposit. There is also described the experimental-industrial site of this mine, where the system of development with sublevel caving system and face ore output is sampled on the basis of modern high-efficient technical and technological complex mobile equipment. Ore is extracted from experimental site, using new technology. There are increased the productivity and grade of works’ mechanization. Simultaneously, new types and technologies of fastening are mastered (in particular – roof bolting with mesh-wire and metallic lagging and shotcreting). There is supposed the complete refuse of frame support with reinforced concrete and metallic lagging in development systems, using mobile equipment. Results of experimental-industrial works are planned to be used at all underground mines of the Association. Nowadays, there is realized the preparation to construction of Sarbaiskiy underground mine. The project is developed by “Giproruda” institute. Exploration is also carried out. After development of Sokolovskiy open pit, there is planned the construction of Yuzhnaya mine, and “6-th epicenter” and Kacharskaya mines.
