Mineral resource base of Sokolovsko-Sarbaiskoe Mining and Concentration Production Association consists of four large iron ore deposits and several deposits of non-metallic feed (dolomites, limestones, building stone and variegated clays). Open-cast mining is applied at all deposits, excluding Northern part of Sokolovskoe deposit, where ore is extracted by underground mining. Operation of the Association is carried out, corresponding to the direct document «Development Strategy of the Association till 2040». This operation is directed both on expanding of existing productions with stage start of high marketable readiness production (metalized bricks), and on introduction of modern technologies and high-productive equipment of Kazakhstan and foreign companies. This document makes a provision for the following operations: strengthening of raw materials base, including another South-Sarbaiskiy open pit; reconstruction of Sarbaiskiy and Sokolovskiy open pits with separation of part of their edges; introduction of Southern part of Kacharskoe deposit into development with introduction of automobile-conveyor complex into open pit on stripping and extraction works; expanding of Sokolovskaya mine; constriction of Sarbaiskiy underground mine; mastering of range of remote small mineral objects.
