Extraction of iron ore, dolomite, limestone, betonite-type clay and building stone is carried out at Sokolovsko-Sarbaiskoe Mining and Concentration Production Association. The Association is also producer of iron-ore concentrate and pellets, marketable dolomite and crushed stone. Mineral resource base of the Association consists of large and unique iron-ore deposits of Kostanay Province (Sarbaiskoe, South-Sarbaiskoe, Sokolovskoe, Kacharskoe, Kurzhunkul, Sorskoe and Shagyrkul), Alekseevskoe dolomite deposit, Kyzylzhar lime deposit, Sokolovskoe building stone deposit and Sarbaiskoe betonite-type clay deposit. This article gives the characteristic of these deposits, information of their discovery, geological prospecting, status of reserves (for January 01, 2014), parameters of ore bodies and conditions of laying. There is also shown the mineral and quality content of ore bodies, confirming the prospects of long-term development of the Association.
