During the 2011, Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company developed the modernization concept of owned warehousing, taking into account the peculiarities of placing of the Company's organization departments (consumers of materials and equipment). The first stages of planned measures were realized in 2012:
— organization of united warehouse of ground storage of metal-roll and large equipment in Zapolyarny town;
— reconstruction of industrial buildings area in Nikel settlement for creation of materials pallet storage warehouse.
Warehouses were equipped with application of modern materials, shelves and special facilities, which made it possible to decrease the part of manular labour in warehouse handling of goods. Organization of materials shelf storage warehouse in Nikel settlement made it possible to change the logistics of supplies of material and technical resources, and to decrease the transport costs on materials delivery from warehouse to consumers. New warehouse areas were organized considering the further plans of Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company on introduction of automated warehouse cargo management system and further application of modern equipment in warehouse processing of cargo.
