A new one-strand continuous casting machine with a vertical section has been successfully put into operation in the basic oxygen shop at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works. During commissioning and hot tests, the process technology for casting of a wide grade range was implemented. Operation of the main technological equipment was mastered to produce highquality slabs in the amount exceeding the design capacity of continuous casters.
