The territory of Far Eastern Federal District has more than a one thousand of ore deposits. More than 20% of these deposits are allocated between the users of subsoil resources. The extraction of minerals is invested by nearly 50 companies. Since 2004 till 2010 (pre-crisis, crisis and post-crisis periods), there had been observed a significant increase of gross regional product, volume of output and added cost (according to the mining activities, in tote). Production of fuel-energy minerals and slower growth of solid minerals extraction had been also increased. Ore minerals have not been the determinant of economic growth in the region yet. However, they are an important potential for economic development of region in the future. For the purpose of the transfer to an industrial type of development of Far Eastern Federal District, it is required to have a support of companies, which want to organize a modern high-tech processing plants in the Far Eastern Federal District. Creation of ferroalloy subindustry of ferrous metallurgy can be one of the priority projects.
