This article shares the stages and directions of the research and design (RD) department's activities at Kovdor Ore Dressing and Processing Enterprise. For the last 5 years, the RD department has developed nearly 300 projects of various complexity categories. The results of the first creation and development stage of the computer-aided design system (CAD system) and construction system are shown along with the basic implemented projects, and tasks on the following development and improvement of the CAD system. The following improvement and widening of the functional possibilities of the CAD system are specified by two factors.
The first factor is the long-term development strategy of Kovdor Ore Dressing and Processing Enterprise, oriented on the following objects: increasing of volumes and quality of marketable products; and increasing of the production efficiency by the modernization and innovation transformations of the technical and technological complex. The second factor is the rushes of the creation of the world new software products and hardware.
The nearest and priority «inner» task of the RD department is the transfer to electronic turn of the current, archive, project, normative and other technical documentation.
