“BELAZ” JSC created its own design and research base in 1980. This base was transferred into Scientific and Engineering Center in 2005. This gave 52 years to the enterprise to develop and master the output of more than 500 modifications of mine dump trucks and other special technological machines, intended for operation in mining complexes. The Scientific and Engineering Center includes the following facilities: department of the Chief Design Engineer of “BELAZ”, department of underground and road construction equipment (subsidiary in Mogilev), research-and-development shop and experimental laboratory with testing ground. Nowadays, more than 600 employees work in the Scientific and Engineering Center. Taking into account the presence of its own design engineering, research, testing and experimental base, which is tightly connected with production, “BELAZ” has a continuous working cycle between scientific developments, designing, manufacturing of experimental models, testing and production engineering. The enterprise developed the basic directions of joint scientific researches of the Scientific and Engineering Center. Scientific organizations of Republic of Belarus, in collaboration with CIS countries, together held the most important researches and developments, which were defined and introduced into the design of the “BELAZ” mine dump trucks. Regarding the creation of new types of products, the realization of the possibilities of enterprise is confirmed by the international scientific and practical conferences, which are annually spent on the “BELAZ”. Representatives of scientific institutions of Russian Federation, USA, Germany, China, Ukraine, Armenia, India and other countries take part in these conferences. New models of equipment, produced by “BELAZ”, as well as modernized series dump trucks and road-construction machines are demonstrated within the conference. It stably keeps the high interest of prospective and regular customers to the products and promotes it in the world market. The Scientific and Engineering Center defined the basic lines of development directions of open pit and mining equipment of “BELAZ” till 2020. It makes it possible to respond all changes in the market timely, regarding the output of new types of products, and its modernization, according to the requests of the customers.
