Gornyi Zhurnal
The scope of the July 2022 (No. 7) issue of Gornyi Zhurnal embraces major topics and subjects on mine construction, mineral mining and processing, environmental and industrial safety, as well as economy, organization and management in the mining industry.
This issue opens with the article by the Chief Technical Officer of Mansurovskoe Open-Pit Mine Management, which describes mining activities at Mansurovskoe deposit composed of boulder–gravel–sandy rocks to produce a variety of products for construction.
The State Mine Rescue Service of Russia celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The information courtesy of the Press-Centers of SMRS and TASS Russian News Agency tells about the Service organization and development, and about everyday heroism of mine-rescue men.
It seems to be of interest to read the article by the RAS’ Energy Research Institute fellows, which offers a review of coal production in the world’s major coal-mining countries, including Russia, analyzes the global coal industry transformation under the impact of price trends and decarbonized economy, and scrutinizes the current status of Russia in the global markets of coking and power-generating coal.
The issue also contains articles which discuss the formation conditions of gold placers with various useful associated components the Russian Far East, and study the influence of heavy metals on gold recovery efficiency in mining such placers; describe testing of new well log survey methods at hydrogenetic uranium deposits; analyze the present-day situation and growth prospects of the market of mine support systems in Russia, and emphasize that the current technological advance opens a good prospect for the Russian manufacturers and suppliers of various mine support and reinforcement systems for the efficient trading in the domestic market, as well as for the development of innovative systems and materials.
To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Gornyi Zhurnal, this issue presents the articles entitled “Afonino Coal Deposit in the Second Half of the Period from the 1820s through the 1850s” and “History of Mining Engineering at the Alexandrovsky Cannon Factory (Based on the Publications in the Gornyi Zhurnal in 1825–1845)”, which describe the prospecting, exploration and mining practices of those times, the technological advance based on the scientific knowledge, etc.
The other specific subject-based articles can be beneficial for the specialists in these certain areas of science.
