Gornyi Zhurnal
November 2019 Issue of Mining Journal features a large selection of articles devoted to the Oktyabrsky Mine—the largest mining project of NorNickel’s Polar Division. The publication is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Mine. The articles describe the history of the Mine, geomechanical studies to support its production activities, as we’ll as the copper–nickel mining technologies.
The readers would also take interest in the review submitted by the fellows of the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State Geological Prospecting University. This article discusses reserves and resources of ferromanganesian concretions in Russia’s application area in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and describes the systematization developed by the authors for deep-sea piping technologies of mineral mining.
The methods of construction and operation of a digital platform for transportation control in open pit mines are discussed by the fellows of the NUST MISIS College of Mining in their article.
The contribution devoted to personality of mining students seems to be of interest, too. This research has found to be important to educate students together with their mental conditioning for work under extreme production conditions.
