Tsvetnye Metally
The article by B. G. Balmaev, S. S. Kirov, V. I. Pak and M. A. Ivanov talks about kinetic regularities of autoclave leaching of kaolin clays from East Siberian deposits. The leaching is held in laboratory conditions by using hydrochloric acid. The authors constructed a probabilistic-deterministic mathematical model of this leaching, and made it possible to predict the best parameters of the process.
Nowadays, the development of alkaline opening of eudialyte concentrate is very perspective. This concentrate enables extraction of silicon into solution with obtaining of concentrate, dressed by rare-earth and rare metals. This is described in detail in the article by E. V. Bogatyreva, O. V. Khokhlova, E. A. Muraveva, A. V. Dolgov “Thermodynamic estimation of the probability of chemical reactions during alkaline decomposition of eudialyte concentrate”. The authors determined which silicon-bearing phase, formed during the alkaline opening, allows for its extracting in alkaline solution.
Material scientists will be interested in the article “Possible usages of powder material, obtained from wastes of mechanical treatment of VT-22 (ВТ-22) titanium alloy ingots”. It tells us that the VT-22 powder may be used for making both composite and homogeneous solid products by using powder metallurgy methods. The most promising composition for obtaining composite materials with strength properties was found. The investigation results lead to a conclusion about the possibility of the secondary use of the powder.
