Obogashchenie Rud
The third issue of the journal “Obogashchenie Rud” includes the sections “Ore Preparation”, “Processing Technology”, “Beneficiation Processes”, “Technological Mineralogy” and “Equipment”.
The section “Ore Preparation” dealswith the questions of bauxite grade increase through its grinding regime optimization(the paper by V. N. Brichkin, et al.); the advantages of ball mill drum’s combination rubber-metal liners over steel and rubber liners are considered (the paper by P. V. Malyarov); the results of the conducted industrial tests with application of grinding balls of higher hardness category are evaluated (the paper by A. I. Serov, et al.).
The technological developments are represented by the primary and complex gold ores dressability studies, resulting in a gravity-flotation-cyanide processing flow sheet for treatment of these ores (the paper by P. K. Fedotov, et al.), as well as by the pilot-scale testing of electrochemical water treatment technology intantalum-niobium ores processing, corroborating a high effectiveness of anolyte application with a view to enhance the contrast range of minerals’ processing properties, thus permitting to increase minerals’ recovery into flotation concentrate (the paper by V. А. Chanturiya, et al.).
The paper by E. D. Shepeta, et al., is dedicated to the studies on possible increase in flotation properties contrast of scheelite and calcite mono-mineral fractions by using combinations of oxyhydrillic collectors.
The capabilities of the modern mineralogical methods, including optical microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray microtomography, electron microscopy with microprobe analysis, are demonstrated in the study of mature metallurgicalnickel-containing slag with a view to determine its morphological composition and possible areas of recycling (the paper by E. G. Ozhogina, et al.). The advantages of computer X-ray microtomography – the powerful capabilities of 3D-visualization of data obtained at a shot span of time, high speed and non-destructiveness were used to investigate morphometric parameters and pore space characteristics of granodiorite, copper sandstone and kimberlite samples (the paper by I. V. Talovina, et al.).
