Abstract

The paper presents the most widely used technologies of desulfurizing of coke gases (wet oxidation and absorption-desorption technologies). Accompanying products, such as simple (elementary) sulfur and sulfuric acid are forming as a result of usage of these technologies. Different variants of layout of equipment for of desulfurizing of coke gas are analyzed. Complex cost of operating the equipment for of desulfurizing of coke gases with and without usage of free steam is compared. Operating expenses of of desulfurizing of coke gas are calculated, advantages and disadvantages of the observed technologies are given. It is concluded that the technology for of desulfurizing of coke gases should be chosen on the base of requirements of gas cleaning degree; it is mainly determined by the area of application of cleaned gas. Absorption-desorption technologies of of desulfurizing of coke gas (such as vacuum-carbonate and ASK technologies) have rather sufficient economical efficiency and are characterized with high environment protection potential. At the same time, Stratford method and sulfate ammonium technology are high-effective but also more expensive.
