Abstract

Given many years of experience working together experts from the Institute of Mining, Ural Branch of RAS, and combine “Uralasbest” Development and improvement of drilling and blasting in mining asbestos-containing ore by opencast methods. Presented the chronology of development drilling and blasting in the dynamics, with application of new drilling rigs, tools for sinking wells, initiation systems and explosives (including manufactured in the mining industry) in order to significantly improve the efficiency and level of mechanization of blasting through the use of modern technologies and the equipment. Outlined technological solutions to further develop the process of drilling and blasting of rock to the preparation of excavation to be achieved at the expense of making and using modern formulation of emulsion and granular explosives, further technical re-equipment of blasting and optimization based on the monitoring of the strength and elastic properties of the local array of rocks in their natural dipping.

Combine Uralasbest is a unique enterprise in the Urals. Most of the mining equipment and mining technologies that are successfully applied in the Russian Federation and Commonwealth of Independent States were first tested and perfected for the company. The introduction of new technologies in the explosive case is an enormous job that requires consolidation of efforts not only businesses, as well as education and science. Therefore, the formation and development of the asbestos mine in the Urals would not have been feasible without the regular scientific research. A reliable and steady partner Uralasbest plant in the production of scientific support was and is the Institute of Mining, Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences. During the years of working together have accumulated vast experience to improve the drilling equipment, drilling tools, Mobile units for loading boreholes technology manufacture of explosives, which is the basis of modern explosive technology. Feature of the occurrence of rocks in the Ural asbestos mine is to change their properties in a wide range of values. Within the limits of the excavation block castle rock varies unpredictably from small values to the highest spirits. Accordingly, the choice of the parameters of drilling and blasting operations in these conditions is extremely difficult, because the quality of the preparation of explosive rock depends on the efficiency of subsequent processes of mining and mineral processing. At the present time to solve the problems of production blasting at the mine at the Institute of Mining, conducts fundamental research in the field of rapid determination of rock properties in situ with the use of physical fields. Interpretation of the results of measurements allows to locate individual approach and the violation of the rock excavation at the height of the block.
