Abstract

The necessity to involve the Zhezkazgan region non-commercial sulfide ores into processing is shown. The Tastau deposit non-commercial sulfide ores' dressability study results are presented with determination of processing regimes and metallurgical results. Laboratory experiments were conducted for each operation included into closed processing circuit. Special attention was given to flotation concentration experiments. It was established, that completeness of copper recovery into concentrate depends both on collector consumption and flotation duration, as well as grinding fineness. The following process conditions are recommended: collector consumption — 200–300 g/t of ore, flotation duration — 12–15 min, ore grinding fineness — 55–60 % of minus 0.074 mm size fraction. Produced rougher copper-molybdenum concentrate, with regard to main components content, corresponds to similar materials to be treated by conventional combination flow sheets.
