Influence of heat treatment on structure forming, hardness, phase composition, structure, mechanical properties and wear resistance of complex-alloyed white irons is researched. Ability of studied irons to frictional hardening is studied. Microstructure of vanadium iron in cast conditions and after quenching are examined. Heat treatment conditions for all types of alloys is developed. Quenching, normalization, step quenching, quenching and tempering, normalization and tempering, step quenching and tempering were applied for 300 Kh18F3 iron. It is shown that iron with mainly martensite structure have the most high wear resistance in micro-cutting mechanism, while iron with austenite-martensite structure have the best wear resistance for the mechanism of plastic displacement. It is concluded that heat treatment of vanadium iron for martensite or martensite-austenite structure will increase corundum wear resistance by 2.0-2.5 times and periclase wear resistance - by 1.3-1.5 times. Austenite structure was metastable both in the case of corundum wear and periclase wear; partial disintegration of austenite occurs in the surface layer with thickness 5-10 mcm and 14-21 % of austenite disintegrate depending on kind of heat treatment. Chromium-vanadium irons doesn't require complicated heat treatment (such as normalization at 900-950 °C) and can be used in cast condition.
