Abstract
The method of ladle treatment of low-chromium iron (2–4 % Cr), based on introduction of technological additives (Mg + rare earth elements) as much as 0.05–0.25 % is presented. This method allows to obtain chromium-carbide eutectics instead of ledeburite, to exclude forming of free ferrite in metallic base and to improve mechanical and operational properties of iron. Economical efficiency of usage of chromium iron is essentially increased.
