Abstract
The method of ladle treatment of of the melts of chromium iron (containing 2–4 % Cr and 3.5 % C) has been developed on the base of conducted investigations; it allows to vary primary structure of iron without variation of chromium and carbon content. Using the developed method, special carbides M7C3 have been obtained in iron with low chromium content (less than 4 %), what was practically impossible with conventional technology. Additionally, such low chromium iron can acquire properties typical for high chromium iron: e. g. containing 15–18 % Cr, what allows to rise substantially economical parameters.
