Since 2006 BGH Edelstahl Siegen GmbH has consistently striven and pushed for improvement and the modernization of the steel works. Particular focus has been placed on the increased performance of the electric arc furnace. To that end a modular chemical energy package, consisting of solid material injectors for carbon, lime, dololime and aluminium, has been built into the electric arc furnace. The improved operating data achieved follo wing these installations confirms a successful modification to the operating process, this in spite of a diverse range of products ranging from low alloyed steels to stainless steel qualities.
