Calculation of the pulling force of a galvanized strip through the straightening and skin pass rolling unit |

Abstract |
After the application of the zinc or zinc-containing coating in the ANGC (continuous hot-dip galvanizing unit) line, a strip is subjected to the straightening and skin-tempering in order to obtain a smooth surface without the shape defects. The straightening machines with the working rollers by the diameter of 40–46 mm are used for straightening strip by the thickness 0.16–0.32 mm, for straightening strips by the thickness more than 0.32 mm are used the rollers with the diameter of 50–60 mm. Below the dependences, for determining the effort on the pulling rollers of the straightening-tempering unit of the ANGC line, are obtained. To coordinate their joint work, the pulling rollers are used. They send the strip to the intermediate storage-receivers. To adjust the pulling rollers, it is necessary to know the pulling forces. The dependences, for determining the pulling force in the straightening machine with non-drive rollers, are given, which take into account the difference in the radius of the working rollers, the coefficient of rolling friction, the number of rollers in the straightening machine, the value of nonflatness, back specific tension, mechanical properties and geometric dimensions of the strip. As the cross-sectional area of the strip is increased, the pulling force is increased. With increasing of the cross-sectional area of the strips made from the 08U steel from 1000 mm^{2} to 2000 mm^{2}, the pulling force increases by 28.5 %, but for the strips made from the 10ps steel – by 33.3 %. |
