Abstract

The analysis of steel deoxidation indices in the electric steelsmelting shop of JSC Ural Steel is carried out. It is shown that the deoxidizing elements assimilation varies widely: from 33.0 to 88.4% (on average, 68.8%) for manganese and from 25.9 to 79.8% (on average, 63.8%) for silicon. The reasons for the high fluctuations and low assimilation of deoxidizers are associated with a low carbon content (below required) and an elevated temperature of the metal at the outlet from the arc furnace. Statistical analysis of production data is carried out in order to improve the technology of deoxidation in the example of steel 3sp (St 37-3 to DIN S235J2G3). The regression equations are obtained. They allow to estimate the quantitative infl uence of the parameters of the produced metal on the assimilation of silicon and manganese, as well as to predict the percentage assimilation of deoxidizers at the current temperature and carbon content of the metal at the outlet from the arc furnace. To improve the efficiency of deoxidation of steel 3sp (St 37-3 to DIN S235J2G3) in the ladle with manganese and silicon ensure the production of metal at the outlet from the furnace with a carbon content of 0.14–0.18% and a temperature of 1615–1625 °C, in addition to the mandatory requirements for the ferroalloy feeding procedure. Compliance with the rational parameters of the metal at the outlet of the arc furnace will improve the technical and economic indicators of production and the quality of steel 3sp according to the following parameters: reducing the consumption of deoxidizers, electricity and oxygen in the smelting of steel; decrease consumption carburizers and deoxidizing slag on the ladle furnace; decrease of non-metallic inclusions in steel.
