Abstract

The results of the fulfilled research in explanation of complex mechanization structures rational application conditions for open cast mines of the North are presented. The peculiarities of mining equipment selection at the present stage of geotechnology development are considered as well as technical re-equipment of open casts. The initial factors influencing the choice are defined and structured. Main procers of mining machinery introduced to the market are specified, and the algorithm for finding competitive proposalks and their technical-and-economic analysis is suggested. As a result of numerical research and mining modelling, the dynamics of specific cumulative expenses connected with purchase and operation of drilling rigs, excavators, dump trucks, bulldozers of various manufacturers is determined, as well as their optimal timing of service is proved. On this basis, the efficient use areas of modern mining equipment are defined under the examined conditions. Moreover the regularities of the parameters influence on the open cast production capacity are implemented. It is illustrated how to select an equipment system for a preset production capacity so that cost of drilling, blasting, extraction, loading, hualiage and doszing is minimal. In addition it has been stated that the increase in the open cast mine production governs determines the growth of the excavator bucket capacity and, consequently, the diameter of the drill bit, duty dump truck and the dozer blade capacity. Based on that, the evaluatioon procedure is developed for mining and transportation equipoment systrems for open pit ore mining n the severe climatic conditions, and the obtained results are used in phase IV planning and design for Russia’s largest open pit gold mine Vostochny.
