The article discusses the advantages of autogenous grinding of finely disseminated ores, as compared to ball milling, explained by improved liberation of aggregates and a significant reduction in specific energy consumption. Certain ways are shown to further increase the economic efficiency of the autogenous grinding process through its intensification, including though removal of difficult-to-mill size fractions from mills with their recrushing in inertial cone crushers. The experience of industrial operation of inertial cone crushers in dry and wet processing of scrap pebbles is presented, which confirms the possibility of obtaining a finer product with more concave granulometric characteristics in the open cycle, as compared to serial cone crushers. The performance advantages of the possible use of the inertial cone crusher technology for the improvement of ore-crushing processes at the concentrators of Lebedinsky GOK are assessed. It is shown that replacement of a KMDT tertiary cone crusher with an inertial cone crusher in the recrushing cycle for pebble scrap and excess ore pebbles renders a 1.2 higher mill throughput at the same power consumption.
The study was carried out under the grant issued by the Russian Science Foundation (RSF, project No. 17-79-30056).
