Abstract

Steelmaking dust is caught in gas cleaning systems of all steelmaking equipment: mixing, desulphurization, ladle treatment and vacuum degassing units. Dust from mixers and desulphurization units contain a lot of Fe and can be used as secondary mineral raw material for metallurgy. Utilization of this dust is problematic due to its fi ne-dispersed composition and small volume of formation. At the same time it is not expedient on economical and ecological reasons to collect this dust at home or to transport it to any enterprise for processing. Thereby it is suggested to provide such processing at agglomeration facilities, using its preliminary mixing with other wastes, with formation of the new product and development of technical conditions of its processing.
