Abstract

From the new theoretical standpoints of mobilism, the authors discuss the principle mechanisms of formation and occurrence of basic geological–production types of rare metal and rare earth deposits in East Kazakhstan. For a set of structural-geological and mineralogical-geochemical data, the criteria are given for the prediction and appraisal of epi-magmatic rare-earth, pegmatic rare-metal and albititegreisen tin-tantalum types of mineralization, which are genetically related with the Permian granitoid magmatism of post-collision (orogenic) stage in development of the geological structure of the Great Altai. It is emphasized that rare-metal granitoid masses occur belt-wise and adjoin structures of increased thickness and having a sialic-type section in the crust. In Kalba–Narym granitoid belt, Kalba granodiorites–granites are associated with the main deposits of rare-earth pegmatites, and geological–genetic model of their formation is studied in the article. In later-period Kalba granites characterized with the increased alkalinity and alumina, tin–tantalum mineralization is revealed. Coarse-grained Monastery leucogranitic granite contains much chambered crystal-bearing pegmatite and tungstenbearing quartz veins. In the Akbiik–Akzhailyaus belt of Zharma–Saura, alkaline–granite formation is genetically associated with the epi-magmatic niobium–zirconium–rare earth mineralization. In terms of the representative deposits, the authors show minerals–indicators of the mineralization process and geochemical elements–associates of rare-metal and rare-earth mineralization.
