It is known that strict safety instructions are used by operating personnel in the case of emergent technological situations. ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG for the first time in the world puts into practice the innovative relay for restriction of rotation frequency, and it is the only company that provides the maximal safety level for hot strip rolling mill, in its roughing croup of stands. This relay is based om EGS(H)41 J. Hübner device and is independent from adjusting of rotation rate. It operates as a system with integrated measuring device for rotation number registration, with logical scheme for rotation analysis and with executive mechanism for switch-off. It is concluded that usage of this devise allows the personnel to avoid risk of sudden switch-on of the equipment or sudden increase of its rotation rate during operation or adjustment. Thereby operating safety is provided.
