Abstract

The relationships defining quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the iron ore concentrate production have been concluded by the computational and theoretical analysis of the lime prophylaxis process. The industrial tests with lime introduction in the agglomerate charge material have been conducted. Applying to the conditions of JSC “VGOK” production, the influence of different factors on the quality of the prophylaxed concentrate is specified. Based on the developed algorithm for calculation of parameters of iron ore concentrate prophylaxis process with lime, the effect of lime consumption on the level of ferrum and calcium oxide in the final product has been determined. The calculation data are well agreed with the statistical data processing results. Initial humidity of the iron ore concentrate has a major effect on the final humidity of the prophylaxed concentrate. The optimal lime consumption is calculated for the prophylaxis of iron ore congelation. It is recommended to use the obtained relationships also in lime processing of other kinds of mineral raw materials.
