The Abailskoye deposit brown iron ore roasting-magnetic processing |

Abstract |
The Abailskoye deposit brown iron ore roasting-magnetic processing was studied with a view to the proposed construction of an iron and steel plant. Coal from Shubarkolskoye deposit is applied as a reducing agent in the roasting-magnetic processing. Moessbauer spectroscopy is used for quantitative analysis of iron-containing phases in run-of-mine ore and roasting products. The results of the laboratory studies of the Abailskoye deposit ore roasting-magnetic processing, with the ore ground to –0.1+0 mm size, are presented. Using the experiment planning method, effects of the temperature, roast duration, reducing agent concentration, separation magnetic field intensity factors upon magnetic concentrate yield were studied. A generalized multivariate equation was derived, adequately describing the studied process, revealing the optimum conditions for ore roasting-magnetic processing. With maximum values of all partial functions, chosen by the plotted graphs, the magnetic fraction yield, calculated by the generalized equation, amounted to 96.37 %. The magnetic fraction yield in the test (optimum) experiment was 91.81 % with iron fraction of total mass and recovery being 62.2 and 96.62 %, respectively. By means of Moessbauer spectroscopy it was established that iron in magnetic concentrate was by 86.8 % magnetite. |
