The improved construction of oxygen lance providing nonstationary pulsing blowing in the basic oxygen process is suggested. The optimal variant of the lance nozzle for the basic oxygen shop of Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works — “EVRAZ NTMK” JSC has been developed. It is shown that usage of gas-dynamic interrupter switches of oxygen flow allows to improve technical and economical parameters of converter melting. The following results of non-stationary blowing are concluded: increase of content of vanadium pentoxide in slag by 1.5%; increase of devanadization degree by 2 %; lowering of residual vanadium content in semiproduct by 0.005 %; increase of steel yield by 1.3% (calculated value) due to decrease of iron oxides in slag.
