There was researched the conversion of nickel-ammonium sulfate to nickel (II) hydroxide. Periodical and uninterrupted methods were used for realization of conversion. Periodical method was realized in apparatus with blending machine, while uninterrupted method was realized in pulsator column. The target product was washed in ascending flow with varied hydrodynamic mode. Wipping of nickel hydroxide was carried out on laboratory vacuum filter at constant rarefaction. Nickel (II) hydroxide was dried in convective furnace with electromagnetic microwaved frequency field. Three modifications of nickel (II) hydroxide (two crystalline and one pseudo-amorphous) can be formed during the conversion process. The shape of nickel hydroxide is determined by the excess of precipitant and process temperature. Usage of the precipitant with concentration of less than 1.25 mol/l leads to formation of “spherical” nickel (II) hydroxide. Crystalline phase is mostly formed in the time of increasing of concentration of precipitant by more then 2.5 mol/l. With the precipitant concentration from 1.25 to 2.5 mol/l, the shape of nickel (II) hydroxide grains has a transition structure from spherical to crystalline shape and is mostly shown by scale-layered structure. Yield of crystalline phases mostly depends on precipitant temperature and rarely depends on the method of synthesis. Crystalline shapes of nickel hydroxide are characterized by lesser value of total specific surface and are released from the solution with lesser content of water phase. As a result of realization of developed technical methods, the total period of obtaining of nickel (II) hydroxide can be decreased by more than a half.
