Abstract

The main reason for appearance and development of corrosion damage of the steam generator heat exchanger pipes for nuclear power stations is the process of stress corrosion cracking of metal under influence of residual tensile stresses. The paper shows necessity of elimination of roll straightening process from tube making technology and proposes combining of heat treatment and straightening of the heat exchanger pipes. The method of heat treatment and extension straightening of heat exchanger pipes is proposed and tested in production environment for tubes with size 16×1.5 mm made of stainless steel 08Kh18N10T (08Х18Н10Т). Construction and operation principles of the experimental installation is described. The experimental results show that the proposed method allows to provide tube heat treatment with obtaining the mechanical properties, grain size and resistance to inter-granular corrosion of metal pipes in accordance with the requirements of TU 14-3P-197-2001. Additionally, the pipes subjected to heat-treatment via the proposed method, are characterized by the level of residual tensile stresses and tube curvature by 10 times less than in tubes subjected to heat treatment via conventional technology. The results of testing have been used in development of construction of the industrial unit allowing to conduct heat treatment and straightening of tubes with preset coeffi cient of stresses state.
