Abstract

This article shows the current state, prospects and problems of development of industrial mining complex in the Komi Republic. The main operating enterprises and prospective mining projects are singled out. There are presented the projects of mastering of bauxites, quartz, barite, gold-ore deposits, titanium, manganese and chromium ores and construction raw materials. There are designated the main problems interfering to the forward development of mining operations of the region. There is defined the high potential value of mining objects against a background of low level of investment activity. Necessity of introduction of prospective geotechnologies and mineral raw materials marketing is described. Expansion of mineral resources base and mining production volumes in the Komi Republic depends mostly on creation and mastering of new technologies of extraction and concentration of crude ore, including complex and refractory ores. The considered deficiency of qualified personnel is a global problem of industry. There are shown the needs of future mining enterprises for a manpower. There is emphasized the necessity of cooperation of large, medium and small business for investment of infrastructure and social projects. Development strategy of mining complex of the Republic is offered to be worked out in medium-term prospect.

This work was carried out with the support of the program of fundamental researches of Ural Department of Russian Academy of Sciences:
