One of lines of activity of experts of the Belarusian Autoworks is heightening of productivity and lowering of operating costs of exhausted mine dump trucks. Development of power electronics and the microprocessor engineering has created necessary premises to wide application on dump trucks of electromechanical transmissions of alternating current. Systems of the traction electric drive of alternating current have series of conclusive advantages:
- lowering of specific volume and mass of traction electric machine;
- possibility of substantial growth of the maximum speed of dump trucks;
- lowering of operating costs for their service;
- security of the best anti sideslip and anti skidding properties of dump truck;
- Increase life of the motor-wheel reducer, etc.
Modern diagnostic system give the possibility warnings of origin of dangerous situations and, in case of refusal, definitely to identify failure. It considerably raises capacity factor of dump trucks. Now practically all modifications of dump trucks BELAZ with electromechanical transmission have version with electric drive of alternate current. By the results received from maintenance, it is possible to tell with confidence that system approaches in the projection, powering up complex solutions on power installation, traction electric drive and diagnostic system have allowed to create of dump trucks BELAZ with the electric transmissions of AC-AC ensuring safe operation and high efficiency.
